Game report

The game was opened by a great situation for the Czech point of view. After Simo´s pass and after only 14 seconds, the score was opened by Martin Vozdecky. The same man was also in another great opportunity in the 7th minute, this time actually wasn´t successful. He did not have to regret it for long, because his teammate doubled Czech lead. Pavel Strycek passed to Michal Sima, who beat British goalie for the second time. Another Czech goal wasn´t far away. In the 10th minute, Vozdecky scored again after rebounding Strycek´s shot to the net. The 16th minute belonged to Petr Zamorsky, who was playing the first game in this tournament. The Czech defender scored after a good back-hand shot. In the 18th minute, Jan Buchtele wrote his name into the scorer´s column. British players found an answer few moments later, when Philip Hamer was announced as a scorer, however one of Czech players deflected the puck into his own net.

Czech players completely controlled the game and were also able to add two more goals. In the 21st minute, Marek Loskot passed to David Hrazdira who scored the 6th goal of the home team. The last goal of the game was scored by Vladimir Kames in the 36th minute. Despite of another good Czech opportunities, the game ended 7-1 for the home team.

Reactions

Jan Prochazka (Czech Republic): If we compare today‘s with previous games, it was easier today. On the other hand, we had to focus on it, we did not underestimate opponents unnecessarily. We can be satisfied with the result and with the fact that the game involved the 4th line and also our second goalie Daniel Brabec.

Simon Hehir (Great Britain): I think we have progress in every game. I’m very pleased with our second half of the game, we didn’t give up and we saw we can play at this level. Finishing the chances is now the main thing for us, we’re not scoring and we must work on that. But I’m quite happy overall.
