Game report

Croatians started the game with a power play, however, Slovenians managed to kill this penalty. During their power play they showed their opponent, how to handle this situation. Erman cross-passed to Domen Vedlin who opened the score. The game was often interrupted by whistles by referees, because none of the team played following the rules. In the 27th minute, Krivis was in his giveaway in a big opportunity, but he only hit Filipec´s mask.

Slovenian improved their game and they were rewarded by 4 goals in 12 minutes. In the very last second of the 3rd part, Erman converted a good pass by Sotlar and doubled his team´s lead. Shortly after the beginning of the last quarter, Sotlar sent a great shot against Filipec and the Croatian goalie was without a chance to save. Despite of wasting a power-play opportunity, Slovenians could soon celebrate again. In the 44th minute, Krivic found with his pass Sotlar, who was standing alone in front of the opponent´s net and scored the 4th goal. The goal fest was ended in the 48th minute, when Krivic closed the score by a precise cross shot behind Filipec´s back.

Reactions

Marko Sertic (Slovenia): We played well in the first quarter, but we lost focus after it. We missed a lot of our chances. I believe we will win our next game.
