Austria was far better

Austria was far better in finishing their actions. But their victory is well-deserved. It was a disappointment for the Brazilians.

In the first quarter deservedly won the Austrians. However, Brazil defended well and then had the biggest chance to get the lead, but didn´t score and then conceded two goals. The first period of the first match of this year´s World Cup won by the favoured Austria 2-0. Patrick Spannring made a great move on the left side and passed the puck to Daniel Oberkofler who hit the empty net. In the ninth minute lead Austria 2-0. Another nice moment recorded Patrick Spannring. He took the puck behind the net and then found out that his teammate Kristof Reinthaler is alone. His shot went right into the goal!

In the 20th minute Brazil couldn´t capitalise from their power-play and now is behind three! It was the first line again and Daniel Oberkofler who scored his second goal of the game. It look like as a clear game, but Brazil also had some chances. Well, I do not think Austrians can be satisfied with their game. Still they are the better team for sure.

A most of the spectators would like to see a Brazilian goal. But the score on their side is still 0. Favorit Austria is heading to the victory. In the 28th minute counter attack Austria had a counterattack and Patrick Spannring passed the puck to Harry Lange who managed to hit the empty net. Another great action by Spannring who has the fourth assist of the game! In the 40th minute when the power-play ended the Austrians lead by five goals. Goncalves didn´t see when Harry Lange shot from the red line and the puck stopped in the net.

In the 42th minute Brazil will be very sad after this game. The favourites Austrian farther 6th goal. Now it was a great individual move by Daniel Oberkofler. Just then fell another goal. First Austrian line is just unbelieveable today. 7th goal for the team, seventh thanks to their work! After Lange´s pass Patrick Spannring hit the upper corner. The last goal in the match put the Austrians again in 46 minutes. Daniel Oberkofler didn´t make any wild move, just shot the puck to a small empty spot in the net. It was his fourth goal of the game!
