Game report
The third penalty for Japanese players in a short term was finally punished. Hungarian players settled in front of Osawa and a snap shot by Zoltan Rewak found its way behind the Japanese goalie. In the 37th minute, also Japanese team converted its power play and doubled its lead. Daisuke Ohto got a pass from Nishinaga and scored. 4 minutes later, Hungarian players found a good answer. After cross pass, Balazs Ladanyi took a snap shot and lower the opponent´s lead. The European team smelled the chance for tying the game, called off its goalie and took its time-off. Plus Ohto got a minor penalty for slashing. And Hungarians made the game tied!
And when the overtime also did not decide, who deserved more to win, the shot-out had to make the difference. The start belonged to Hungary, when Nishinaga´s try was caught and Revak opened the score of the shout-out. However, the next one by Japanese players was also successful when Gentaro Tsuchimoto copied the way of the previous one. Then Ladanyi, Ohto, Vaszjunyin and the second tries by Revak and Gentaro Tsuchimoto weren´t successful, but Atiila Rafaj made a backhand shot and scored. Because Nishinaga failed to beat Kiss again, Hungary could celebrate its victory.
Reactions
Miroslav Vybiral (Hungary): I expected that it will be a tough game. Half of it, we were looking for a player who takes it on himself and is able to score a goal. Fortunately, we were able to make the game tied when we called off our goalie and tear the victory for us in a shootout. For us, it is important that we won and it doesn´t matter. that it is for two points. Players must be more emphatic in the end of their opportunities, that´s what we must do better in our next game.
Kan Nakajima (Japonsko): Today, we traveled to Pardubice from Tokyo for nineteen hours. We were very tired, but we lost the game even in the shootout. From our side, it was a good game as it was the first game on the tournament. If we play like that in the coming games, we will be successful. P>
